Oh, Tabby’s Place family!
Every cat is galloping with gratitude like never before, because …
YOU DID IT!!!
But this begs a question.
What have you done?
If that sounds like something your mother asked after you drew a Crayola fresco of all the Muppets on the wall, listen again.
WHAT have you done?
You have carried the cats to the most ambitious, life-saving Linda Fund Matching Challenge goal in Tabby’s Place history.
You have donated your selfless, fear-smashing, love-dancing dollars.
You have built a nest for wounded, worried, weary cats who will fall into our arms.
You have time-traveled to the day a future soulmate will stagger to our door.
You have strung a banner reading WELCOME! and YES! and YOU WILL LIVE!, without seeing the face of your guest.
You have loved in advance, so love will have its answer in its hour.
What HAVE you done?
You have exceeded even the cats’ expectations (and this is a species who expects the angels to hand-deliver liverwurst).
You have galloped laps around all the past Linda Funds, which means our arms can reach more cats than ever before.
You have embraced Amaryllis, the survivor whose three legs still know the dance.
You have glimpsed tortoiseshells over the horizon and held them to your heart.
You have made way for the next Affogato … Taylor Ham … Steinbeck … Farva … Monet.
What have YOU done?
You have given with gusto to the shivering and the small.
You have revealed yourself as a friend to the broken and bewildered.
You have saved lives you may never get to love in person, because your love is who you are as a person.
What have you DONE?
You have given cats a chance to begin.
You have signed checks so the end is not the end.
You have heckled “impossible” and held a torch in the darkness.
You, Tabby’s Place family, have saved hundreds of cats we have yet to love.
You have reminded us that love is the greatest force this tired world will ever know.
YOU DID IT!
