Tabby’s Place fam, you are a constellation of wonders.
Just when we think you have achieved peak “amazing,” you do new cartwheels of compassion.
And now, you have cheerfully disassembled two of the saddest words in the English language: “too old.”

We asked you to “Remember the Seniors.” But you did not just remember. You rejoiced.
For love is not duty, but delight.
You donated so generously, you galloped our golden oldies to the matching challenge goal in record time.
You stocked up miracles yet to unfold. Do you know what happens when you rejoice in the seniors?
Joy and Gracie get adopted together in old age, and learn the meaning of their own names.

Shelby goes from grief to embrace, as the passing of her person passes love’s torch into our hands.
Trinket learns that she is more than a knick-knack: she is an heirloom.
Kamate takes up residency in our Lounge snack bin, confirming life is delicious even after age ten.
And Tux, elder statescat at age 23, continues to live, thrive, and greet each morning as the best one yet.
Their needs are advanced. Their years are many. Their joys are more.
Their family is you.

If they could, every elderly cat at Tabby’s Place would snuzzle their forehead into your cheek. But until they work out the logistics of that historic super-snuzzle, just know this: you saved their lives. You reminded them that they are exactly the right age to be adored.
And June was so juicy with mercies, we must recall them all. Let us commence:
Arrived: Ponyo, Shelby, Angus, Annelle, Eeyore, Totoro, Haku, Lemming, Bill Wilkins, Dr. Tom, Beso, Arrow, Cupid, Cheese Puff, Feisty, Martini
Adopted: Heidi; Leela; Tiloki & Kannu (together); Frank; Kit Kat; Hershey; Snickers; Marble Rye, Snackcake, and Tapenade (together); Templeton; Wilbur; Pixel; Chance; Colonel Peabody (more on this miracle soon); Magda (ditto); Blueberry; Fudge; Faith

Returned: Odessa; Utah & Wyoming (together); Leela
Promoted to the Community Room: Cupcake, Tag
Promoted to Heaven: Ponyo, MJ, Miss Kitty, Beso, forever fosters Pepita (with angel Danielle), Burger/Schroedinger (with angel Tiana), and Mr. Grey (with angel Janet)
Stuff We Learned: Difficult times will come. Cats we adored will slip from our arms into eternity. Ringworm will scratch bald patches on our plans.

We may even suffer grievous harm at the hands of a Sausage McMuffin (I swear I am not making this up), although that is a risk Sam is willing to take on all of our behalf.
But if we are stubborn enough to keep taking care of each other, the wins will wrap the losses in love.
Thank you for reminding our cats of all ages that they are worth everything, Tabby’s Place fam.
Onward to July. Together, the way we do everything around here.
