At its best, being grown up is having a second childhood. You can have all the fun with a side of wisdom, and, hopefully, you can enjoy some seriously cool toys. But, it takes time to get there, for people and felines alike.

The Tabby’s Place Volunteer Picnic is an annual celebration of volunteers who volunteer at Tabby’s Place (like how I made that sound both redundant and not at the same time? Neat trick, huh?). It’s a wonderful event for us all to get together to be feted and feasted by those whom we help (staff) in […]
Some Tabby’s Place residents scream for attention. Notably, one feisty little Lemon zinger in Suite C and a gregariously great Grecca in the Lobby shout to be heard and have us tune in to what they want. They sing out and clamor for attention — all of the attention, all of the time. These two […]
Sometimes, my brain goes on meandering side trips with, neither particular reason (sound or otherwise), nor rhyme (iambic pentameter or otherwise). Some vague thing will twinkle off at the edges of literal or figurative sight, and there I go…chasing butterflies, bumbleflies, flutterbys, dragonflies, and dragons, once again and all at once.
Joshua is a warrior. The walls of Jericho have long since fallen, and the suite hallway is strictly off limits. But, as a fighter, Joshua just keeps on trying.
Normal is mythological. It just doesn’t exist. What exists are lots of things that are scattershot all over the place, and, when averaged out, yield a mean value that we call “normal.” But, normal is just not…normal. Normal is unusual. Normal is strange, especially at Tabby’s Place.
By now, you are probably aware that our daisukina (dearest) Development Director is a sumo aficionado. I am too, but I can more accurately be described as a screaming, crazed fan than an aficionado.
It seems likely that even our most sheltered readers (yes, humans need shelter too!) have at least a smidgen of Spanish words en su volcabulario…ahem..in their vocabulary. Considering the vast swaths of the western hemisphere that consist of Spanish-speaking nations, it would be surprising if that weren’t the case. Piñata might be the most fun […]
As summer bakes us and steams us until we plead for mercy from its grip and for more air conditioning, we know there is a reprieve. We don’t even have to wait for the blissful cool of autumn to find the kind of cool that can bring us back to our heat-muddle senses. I’m talking […]
Anyone familiar with a particular movie franchise will have heard of different periods of geologic history, especially the Jurassic. Some may also be aware of the Triassic. Along with the Cretaceous, these 3 periods make up the Mezosoic Era. I’m probably losing you, so let’s just go with this: these times were all long enough […]
