When your season arrives, you know. But until then, oh my stars, reality can be one ill-fitting suit.
There are goodbyes so long in coming, we come to expect that they will never come. When they come, they crash through us, a tsunami of tears that tear us to ribbons.
Confusion is not known as a great beautifier. Case in point: the evolution of Hemingway.
Mid-August did not taste good at Tabby’s Place. Loss upon loss upon pummeling loss left a sour note of unfinished business.

The Linda Fund, that is. I rarely ask for donations in this space, but you bet your bouncy-house I’m gonna do so today. And I have help.
Right now, we have a special opportunity for donations to be matched, up to $22,000.
Tabby’s Place rescues sweet seniors who have nowhere else to turn. Their hearts are full of love, and these gentle souls deserve tenderness, respect, and excellent care.
Please give from your golden heart, so senior cats can have happy golden years. Your
donation will go where it is most needed.
Harriet, age 16, was once forgotten and alone. A car accident left her with life-threatening
injuries. But the best days of Harriet’s life were ahead: she became a Tabby’s Place cat.
Surgery saved her life, and love mended her broken heart. Today, this shaggy sweetheart
reigns in our Executive Director’s office, receiving world-class care for her kidney
disease and arthritis.
Steven, age 15, has lived at Tabby’s Place all his life. He may have numerous Special
Needs, but Steven is as happy as springtime itself. Our little “elder statescat” is thriving
through his golden years, enfolded in love and adored by all.
