“OM” – classic and concise.

“Oh, mama, papa, buy me pizza” — often used in my youth, now in disuse (“oh, no, I gotta buy my own pizza,” and “oh, hubby-wubby, buy me pizza,” just don’t have the same ring).

“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” Now, that’s a really great mantra. Not new at all. Not ancient. Originating from the specific religious experience of one specific individual, but broadly applicable. So saith thine secular humanist.

Forgive me if I’m repeating myself, but, truly, all shall be well.

It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride for some of the olds at Tabby’s Place. Illnesses and rainbow bridge crossings have been too numerous, and each one is heartbreakingly painful. But, we persevere. The cats, like Angelo, persevere. They find new cuddle-buddies, bond more closely with people, or quietly adapt to their current situation.

This new world we are facing may make us feel not-so-brave. As those we love struggle with all of the struggles that make up this struggly mess of a struggly year and longer, we need solace, comfort, and carefully selected cuddle-buddies of our own.

Woe is the situation of physical distancing! Cuddles in the form of hugs and kitty snuggles are way too few and far, far, far between.

Yet, all shall be well. We shall be well.

Remind yourself, remind others. And don’t forget to check in with Tabby’s Place to see how Angelo is doing. I’m 1,000 percent sure he shall be well.

In summary, OM – yes. Ohm – no.

After all, resistance is futile.
