It is the third most common question we hear at Tabby’s Place, right after “Don’t you want to adopt them all?” and “Um…I think you have something on your shirt?” We hear it almost daily: “Where do the cats’ names come from?”
At least once a week, someone tells me they are scared to visit Tabby’s Place. This always comes from someone blessed and challenged with a tender heart. They know their own softness. Left afloat is not the same as abandoned. Left in the care of Tabby’s Place is about as far from abandoned as can be imagined.
It’s summer. Kittens smaller than mozzarella sticks are melting our hearts. Cats of all sizes are processing the trauma of seeing humans in shorts. And the humid, hairy, heartbreaking world is stripping us all down to honesty.

This is a wild, woolly world. We’ve got global goals and global griefs. We’ve got water on Mars and Macklemore back on the charts. Fortunately, we’ve also got gobs of cat news.
