We hope the radio station plays your song– the kind of obscure one that makes you cry in a good way — just when nostalgia threatens to make you cry in a bad way.

We hope the only thing warmer than your cookies is the flame of your future.

We hope your weird cousin who smells like Old Spice and Funyuns doesn’t bring up politics at dessert.

We hope you have peace beyond understanding.

We hope you know that Somebody loves you as unconditionally as you love the Tabby’s Place cats, and sees and celebrates and sings over you in all your splendor and strangeness.

We hope your lap never lacks a purring cat.

And we hope you get even a fraction of the faith, hope and love you’ve supplied us in abundance this year.

You, kittens, are heralds of a love beyond this world. Thank you for keeping the fire alive. Thank you for singing the music that only cats and huge-hearted humans can hear.
