With so much going topsy turvy, and every day filled with queasy wonder about what will come next, it’s easy to forget about how much we have to be thankful for.
Exhibit A: If you’re reading this blog, you either see things for yourself, or you have someone or a nifty technology to help. These are things to be thankful for.
The list of good stuff also includes (stress on “includes;” this list is limitless):
- Cozy booties
- Warm sweaters
- Trees
- Clouds
- Buckets
- Cars
- Radios
- Brewed beverages (any and all of them; big fan),
and - CATS!
Now, there are days when we’re not too happy with accidental scratches, wee hour wailing, or persnickety swats. All things considered, though, cats are great. Face it, we love them and are thankful for each and every whisker each and every day.
Without words, even the most pernicious cats at Tabby’s Place are thankful for all that they have. Toys, laps, food, each other (okay, not always each other, but often…sometimes?), cushions, blankets, on and on. The cats are not equally good at demonstrating their appreciation in ways people would prefer (I’m looking at you, Olive. You too, Marjory). Others display amply enough for anyone (much obliged, Carrot, Mary, Elijah, and so many others).
When we’re all together again, there might be tears, there will definitely be purrs, plus some laughs, some hugs, and a whole lot of thanks for all that we have within the gloriously painted walls of Tabby’s Place.
