Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Whole-Body Smiles

Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Whole-Body Smiles

Cats smile, just not with their mouths. And, Heidi grins with her entire body. It would be understandable if she would never smile. You see, unexpectedly, Heidi’s world turned upside down when her person crossed the veil. Yet, Heidi is giddy and graceful and grabbing. Well, maybe not grabbing. But there are paw pats aplenty with requests for “pet the kitty.” It is very difficult to decline such adorable requests for attention and affection. It is also difficult to resist the sweet, full-bodied swooshes against one’s legs, even if the intent, adoring looks were to be absent.

We hope very much for there to be the very right adoption application for Heidi.

Very right.
Very soon.
Very hope.

Be not distressed or dismayed that Heidi has not moved in with her next great love…yet. Do nothing but smile with joy for her assured success at finding her a new forever family. Be not dissuaded from completing your very own adoption questionnaire for Heidi or for another new feline member of your forever family. Smile like Heidi smiles. Use your entire body.

Try it.
I’ll give you a minute.

There! Isn’t it wonderful to hold your head and tail high? What did you do during the paws pause? Did you think about all of the fabulous Tabby’s Place cats who are available for adoption?  I know I did. They’re my friends, and they will be terribly missed when they go home. But, nobody will have a broader smile than the one that covers my entire body as we wave farewell.

Adoption days are, after all, the very best days in the world, and, very recently, there was a very special one. Ultra sweet, very senior lady Ducky was whisked away home by a darling duo. She will be just the right fit for their lifestyle and dreams. Did you feel the earth shift when Ducky went to her forever home? The entire globe smiled from pole to pole. That’s what happens when kindness and love rule the day. And, there are so many more cats like her and not like her for you to find your own dreamy feline fellowship with.

Shelly, for one, is neither like nor not like Ducky. Huh? Ahem. Let me explain. This little female is ultra sweet, female, and cat. However, she is a mere 7 years old, which means she has a hecka lotta youthful still going on. Also, tortie! Also, BEAUTIFUL! Did I mention SWEEEEEEEET? Oh, also blind and FeLV+, but what are a couple of tiny little advanced needs where love is concerned.

Blindness would require some consideration for Shelly’s need to become familiar with a stable, reliable space. FeLV+ (Oh! That pesky virus!) means that Shelly would need to be in a home either lacking in other cats or inhabited by cats who are also FeLV+. In that latter case, Tabby’s Place can help!

Amigo is a shining example of how wonderful a 12-year-old male tabby can be. Besides, he already shares a suite with Shelly, so they are familiar with each other. Just saying. Plus, for the record, Amigo is probably one of the most accurately named cats ever. Approach somewhat slowly, give and scritch, and Amigo is an instant best friend with full on silly grins of his own. So, what’s the wait? One family taking these two terrific FeLV+ cats home together would make them and an entire cadre of humans do joyous somersaults in celebration.

I can feel Heidi along with multitudes of smiling cats winking at me about this aspiration. Yet, there is no idea too outrageous. There is no end to optimism. There is no hope too high. When you’re ready, come to Tabby’s Place to find out why. Plan ahead and schedule a tour or a visit, maybe even fill out that adoption questionnaire, so an adoptions team member can introduce you to cats who match your dreams. You might just meet your newest family member (or two!). You also might just learn the secret behind Heidi’s full self smile. If you do that, surely you will leave Tabby’s Place bearing your own whole-body HUZZAH.
