Following on the heels of April Fools’ Day, this is a foolish offering to the Tabby’s Place family that will hopefully bring smiles. Except Anka will never smile about grooming. Juel, on the other hand, will giggle all day, until he stops to sneeze…probably in someone’s face…probably mine. With thanks to T.S. Eliot for the inspiration, but with no further ado, here goes…
The grooming of cats is a tangled up matter,
It isn’t about playing Friday night games.
It seems to be just about tangles and tatters,
Yet, there’s also a thing about not naming names.
There are those that will fight against brushes and combs;
There are those that will nip you and chase you back home.
A few will roll over to show you their bellies;
They’ll jiggle and sway just like candied jellies.
Some cats will be begging for more, more, please MORE;
Others will swat you and race toward the door.
Bribe them with treats and cajole till they purr,
Just keep it up for the sake of their fur.
