There’s a lot of leaping involved in what we do at Tabby’s Place. I don’t mean over dribbles of diarrhea. I don’t mean around sleeping cats. At least, I don’t mean exclusively those things. I mean leaps of the faithful kind.
There are days when your inbox is full of grumblers and mumblers, Nigerian lottery announcements, and people inviting you to see their fun webcams/buy their fun Rolexes/try their fun pharmaceuticals. But then there are the days when every color of your inbox fluoresces – and not because you’ve been trying fun pharmaceuticals.
There are no sacred cows at Tabby’s Place. And, when one turns up, it tends to get promptly barbequed.
We try to be pretty open-minded at Tabby’s Place, but some things just don’t go together. Peanut butter and ketchup. Dobro and a ruffled lavender bonnet. Kenny G and my ears. Kittens and The Pit Of Stench.
I’ve met mini-human beans who eat peas and carrots gamely enough…so long as they can eat around the peas. I know folks who will eat cake…so long as they can fastidiously dissect out any icing. But when it comes to feline Dessert Kids, some things just can’t be separated, because some bonds are everlasting.
We’re fast approaching a year since the Dessert Kids began their journey to a sweeter life. There’s breaking news for the Chester crew, and it’s almost as sweet as their names. Suite B has just received delivery of a fresh Twinkie, Trifle and Strudel.
It’s been an exciting week in Adoption Room #2. Those ultimate cat-loving cats, the Chester four plus Cypress, have made a new acquaintance. If only he didn’t find his new roomies so, well, stimulating.
