Epilogues: July 2014

14691602144_68019d8962_zIt’s been a July to remember.

We learned that Kanye West is a blowfish, not a shark. We saw a movie in which a raccoon did the talking for a man who’s a tree. And we rode a rocket of changes with a raft of cats.

Bartholomew is taking summer very seriously, so as to avoid FOMO, 'cause YOLO.

Really we did:

Arrived: Midge, Ken, Picadilly, Marcelline, Beemo, Cake, Theresa, Meatball, Papillon, Alex, Stew, Ribbolita, Salem, Tutti, Divya, Fatima, Mysha, Aisha, Kindle, Nook, Ethan, Jester, Lovely, Bones

Adopted: Beamer; Jester; Gonzo & Beemo (together); Persimmon; Betty & Peggy (together); Roger & Joanie (together); Azalea & Satomi (together); Mysha, Aisha & Fatima (together); Winona & Chipotle (together); Theresa, Ivy, Martha, Beaker, Lovely, Pecan, Marshall

Returned: Winona & Chipotle

Banished to Ringworm: Henrietta, Jack (still, alas and alack and arrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh)

Cleared from Quarantine: Beamer, Claudette, Tansy, Picadilly, Papillon, Meatball, Theresa, Cake, Beemo, Marcelline, Midge, Ken

This is Salem. Salem has some sort of neurological oddity causing her to bob and weave her head like Stevie Wonder doing an endless, joyful rendition of "Isn't She Lovely.". You will be hearing much more about Salem in the very near future.

Promoted to Heaven: Nimbus, Ethan, Scooter, Jean Valjean, alumnae Levi, Rio and Ivy

Stuff We Learned: Our naming nincompoopery knows no bounds. We had a kitten named Beaker. We named a subsequent kitten Beamer. We then named a third kitten Beemo. Beaker. Beamer. Beemo. If someone names some poor innocent feline “Beano,” I’m starting a petition to the UN High Commissioner on War Crimes.

And that’s a July, kittens. August on with your soul full of shalom.

    1. Hi Auntie Karen!

If my momma remembers this right…the first adopter lady sadly crossed the human rainbow bridge and a real nice friend of hers came to Tabby’s Place and adopted Winona and Chipotle so they would always be together! That was pretty special don’t ya think? <3

    1. @Ayla — Ivy was adopted, seemingly healthy and bouncy, only to be overcome by pneumonia a few days later. Kittens are so fragile that they can become so sick so quickly. Needless to say, this was devastating for all involved. I’m grateful she was loved by so many in her short life…
