I’m of the belief that, if someone has a hat with 19,000 Twitter followers, we’d be wise to listen to that someone.
Accordingly, thus saith Pharrell: “Happiness is the truth.”
OK, the same Pharrell also said, “I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space.” But let’s stick with that happiness thing.
We’ve been gobsmacked by losses lately at Tabby’s Place. Hawkeye. Tashi. Posey. Gigi. It is all so wrong, and our souls know it.
Times like these, we can be tempted to bellow “AAAWL IS LAAWST!” and start throwing cargo overboard. But before we could self-immolate entirely, we’ve been doused by a reminder — from creatures much wiser than Pharrell.
Since these creatures are vastly wiser than me, I hereby hand things over to the adoptees.
Thus saith Crystal‘s ma:
“Crystal (also pictured in thumbnail at top) is such a ham and so full of herself! Her favorite things are to play with her toys and cuddle up on the couch with me after my boyfriend leaves for work!
“She has become so social and more comfortable with us every year. She’ll be 3 on the 14th of this month, and it is awesome the relationship she has with us. She loves to sleep in the closet on her tunnel bed (guess she wants her own room, LOL), and she likes to help me cook in the kitchen and be inside the fridge.
“Crystal is too funny; she will chase her tail, and she lets us know when she wants something. She really has gotten so big!”
Happiness is the truth.
Thus saith the AwesomeAdopter of triumvirate Conrad, Marie & Skyler:
“Hope all is well at Tabby’s Place! I know you’ve experienced some tough losses lately (aren’t they all), so I wanted to send you a few recent pics of ‘The Wild Bunch’ — otherwise known as Marie, Skyler, and Conrad — to cheer everyone up.
“As you can see, all have settled in nicely to their forever home.”
Happiness is the truth.
Thus saith the fab folks of Mateo:
“I thought you might like seeing how Mateo is doing. He has a great time running from Mark’s bedroom to ours in a type of hide and seek. We were able to catch him for a few minutes to grab these photos.
“He is adjusting well to his new home and loves exploring the full house now. Still avoiding the dog, but getting more daring each day and has run into him accidentally a couple of times. Our dog is old, so he doesn’t really bother with Mateo. He knows cats have claws that hurt, so he stays away. :-)”
Happiness is the truth.
And, celebrating two of our most recent adoptees, thus saith the AwesomeAdopters of both Bongo and Nero:
“I am happy to report that Bongo is coming out of his shell. He still seems surprised when the phone rings (his tail fluffs up and he breaks traction taking off), but he is much more relaxed. He loves to play with his toys and bat at his feather wand. I suspect that he was quite attached to his previous owner and as with many cats, is not used to other people. But, he is quickly warming up to us.
“In the eating department, both are champs.
“I really wonder what Nero’s back story is. He is a lap cat extraordinaire and has latched on to me like a piece of Velcro.”
I never expected these two to bond so quickly. Amazing….”
Happiness is the truth.
Happy on, kittens. The best is most assuredly yet to come.
Housekeeping note: Yes, I am aware that we are ghastly late on January’s epilogues. This is due to the fact that my brain occasionally turns to oatmeal. But I assure you that, although they will be a fortnight late, your Epilogues will not be a dollar short. I also assure you that we should all be saying “fortnight” more often. At least fortnightly.
YAY – nothing makes us feel better from our losses like these wonderful updates from out Awesome Adopters and their perfect fuzzy babies!
Wonderful to hear of happy forever homes! Hope fortnight is forthcoming forthwith!
