In one of the greatest books of all time, one of the greatest characters of all time said, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
That makes two of us, Anne Shirley. After all, Octobers include cats.
But so do Septembers, so let’s sew that month up, shall we?

Stuff We Learned: Cats can survive dumpsters and heart disease and tailless treachery of all kinds. That gives me hope that we lesser beasts can sure as heck survive this election season.
Speaking of which, let’s make a pact right here, kittens. Whatever happens one month from tomorrow, approximately 49% of us will be disgruntled, while approximately 51% of us will be very gruntled indeed.* Whatever our varied states of gruntlement post-election, let’s stick together, OK? Let’s decide now to love each other even more than we love our precious opinions.
Maybe we’ll even find higher common ground, feline style.
After all, the aforementioned greatest protagonist of all time also said, “Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”
October onward, my kindreds.
*Well, or the earth will open up and pterodactyls will fly out or similar. That’s a live possibility.
