Epilogues: November 2013

dsc_03981Mashed taters: eaten.

Great uncles and aunties: kissed.

November: accomplished.

This is Camille as she appeared upon arrival at Tabby's Place. Your eyes do not deceive you: she is nearly as bald as a bean, Mr. Bigglesworth style. Hers would be the worst case of ringworm in Tabby's Place history.

And wouldn’t you know, it’s been a bangin’ month at Tabby’s Place. Here we go.

Adopted: Gingko (technically “forever fostered,” but the upshot is that he has a home); Iain M. Banks; the MarieSkylerConrad triumvirate (together); Trey; Blossom & Ada (together); Kylie

Arrived: Frosty, Elizabeth,* Doc Watson, Lil, Buffy, Jodi, Rainey, Benny, Joon, Haiku, Sonnet

Returned: Licorice

Banished to Ringworm: NOOOOOOOOOO ONE. (Said with authority.)

Cleared from Quarantine: Frosty, Elizabeth, Buffy, Jodi, Doc Watson, Rainey, Lil

Cleared from Ringworm: Camille, Tinkerbell

This is Camille today. (Literally today.) She once was grey, but now she's black, and in the right light she appears to be turning tortie. Stay tuned, as we fully expect her to be orange by Christmas.

Promoted to the Community Room: Dina, Camille, Elizabeth, Buffy, Jodi

Promoted to the Lobby: Mario

Promoted to Heaven: NOOOOOOOO ONE. (Said with infinite gratitude. Infinite.)

And now begins the end of 2013. December, it’s all you.

*That would be Elizabeth herself up in that top thumbnail. And, yes, she is, in the words of a wise volunteer, “completely preposterous.” Completely.

  1. Oh little Camille – you are soooooooooooooooo cute! You bring back wonderful memories of Denton, a very sweet kitten who had also been afflicted with one serious case of ringworm. The rescue group I was with at the time had an industrial storage-type facility where the cats who weren’t being fostered stayed. Denton was in this group. Potential adopters would come in and ask what Denton’s coat would look like once his “problem” went away. The reply was always solid gray – he’s a Russian blue. Imagine everyone’s surprise when his coat grew back and revealed the surprise – Denton was, in reality, a silver tabby! Such a good boy. He was the only kitty we all kept hoping would never be adopted. He was adopted – at his very first pet fair!
