Didn’t we have a time?
We cherished kittens. Now, we are remembering seniors.
And the cats reminded us of the meaning of May.

This is not to say that May 2026 was wall-to-wall wonderful.
New Jersey witnessed the arrival of earthworms that can jump twelve inches. Someone decided we should all start wearing “petticoat pants.” And to the cats’ dismay, we failed again to invent a gadget capable of printing salami.
And yet.
Right here, in the same world as wars and spandex, mercies bloomed.
You took the Cherish the Kittens Matching Challenge as your personal challenge.

The ghoul we call “Hopeless” could not have your kittens. And you made them all your kittens: Scrabble and Yo-Yo and Slim and Pixel and every sighing smidgen who “shouldn’t” have survived … but you said “MINE!”
But O! You were greedy with love, dear ones.
It was not enough to adorn orphans with new names and new hopes. You set your sights on the seniors, fighting fiercely for the forgotten. You have vaulted us to a mighty start in the Remember the Seniors Matching Challenge. Olive is so grateful, she will give you an extra month to work on the salami printer.
And as you gave and you gave, and you loved and you loved, wonders went wild. The family grew.
A bawdy tabby from a bodega careened into our care at age seventeen (that’s Musha).
A pea-sized Persian lost her kittens but found comfort at Tabby’s Place (that’s Blueberry).

Newborns were reborn after nearly breathing their last (that’s Barkey and Bonk, thriving in memory of their brother Bump).
Love was in sight, everywhere we looked.
Just look what you did:

And now, Tabby’s Place family, we look to the month of the Strawberry Moon. We stand together in love’s unstoppable light.
June will bring comforts and laughter and opportunities for cheese. June will bring difficulties and decisions (e.g., do we attempt to dress Olive in petticoat pants, or do we continue being permitted to live?).
But June will also bring us cats we have not yet met, who we will love more than we can imagine.
And since this is Tabby’s Place, June will bring us together.
Always.
Onwards!
