Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Whole-Body Smiles

Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Whole-Body Smiles

Ducky

Cats smile, just not with their mouths. Okay, sometimes with their mouths. Lovely calico Analisa grins with her entire body. At 9 years old, her world turned upside down. In such a situation, it would be understandable if she did not smile. Yet, Analisa is giddy and graceful and affectionate and already adopted. Yes, Analisa has already gone to her new home.

Be not dismayed! Do nothing but smile with joy for Analisa’s success at finding her forever family. Be not dissuaded from submitting your very own questionnaire to be paired with a new feline family member (or members…plural…with an “s” – just a suggestion) of your own. Smile like Analisa. Use your entire body.

Go ahead, try it.
I’ll give you a minute.

Cassandra

There! Isn’t it wonderful to hold your head and tail high? What did you do during the paws pause? Did you think about all of the fabulous Tabby’s Place cats who are still available for adoption? I know I did. They’re my friends, and they will be terribly missed when they go home. But, nobody will have a broader smile than the one that covers my entire body on the day we wave farewell.

Adoption days are, after all, the very best days in the world. Get the inside scoop by opening your heart. Maybe an ultra sweet, very senior lady like Ducky is just the right fit for your lifestyle and dreams. She is a dream herself. Her purr and her kisses would be an amazing accompaniment as you slip into the best nights of sleep of your life. Giving this marvelous, 18 year old brown tabby a forever home would make the entire globe smile from pole to pole.

Chip

On the subject of poles, what about Cassandra? Okay, this has nothing to do with poles. Cassandra is a cat, not a polar bear. However, she is a vision in black and white. Cassandra’s needs are modest. She would prefer being a solo feline with a respectful, adult family that will provide a hypoallergenic diet along with a sympathetic ear for a chatty companion. Cassandra is very descriptive when sharing tales of her days and about all the ways that Chip’s very existence is vexing. Chip, himself, is a big, cheesy whole-body grinner. He is also a hugger, a snuggler, and a leap-into-your-arms-er. CATCH!!

Seriously. Once, I was sure that I was chatting with Cassandra above me, but suddenly I was catching Chip in my arms. The white undersides had me fooled, but there is truly no mistaking these two for each other. The main things Cassandra and Chip have in common are their sense of humor, tuxedoed beauty, and diet. Chip also needs some medication, but that does nothing to stop his entire being from smiling, especially when wand toys are in play.

Macaw

Watching some of that wand action and always eager for his own (check out the video below), Macaw can see directly into Chip’s suite from his and Jericho’s  office (They supervise the Director of Operations along with every single tour.). Yes, Macaw shares space and kibble with notable orange collar bearer, Jericho, who wears his badge of alert (for overstimulation and questionable decision-making) with honor. But, this youngling, is a pile of eager energy and sweetness.

Macaw is always ready to play and eat and play some more, all the while smiling from nose tip to tail tip. For his part, Jericho enjoys wand play and pets too (with caution for timing and quantity). What he needs in order to be his best self is an adopter with experience and patience. One family taking these two terrific tabbies together would make both them and an entire cadre of humans do circles of smiling somersaults in celebration.

Jericho

I can feel all of the cats at Tabby’s Place winking slyly at me about this aspiration.

Yet, there is absolutely no idea too outrageous.
There is no hope too high.
There is no end to optimism.

When you are ready, come to Tabby’s Place to find out why.
Schedule a tour or a visit, maybe even fill out an adoption questionnaire.
You might just learn the secret behind whole-body smiles and come away with a humongous HUZZAH of your own.

C’mon, Jericho is waiting.
