Jonathan said something both ironic and profound this week. Actually, he said many such things. But the particular Rosenberg koan that comes to mind today is this: “We gotta put a moratorium on death.”
There is so much news exploding at Tabby’s Place today, you’d think it was the Fourth of July. It isn’t. It’s better.
Take a moment and glance at your calendar. What does it tell you? It’s Thursday, October 16th. It’s Boss’s Day.* It’s Flea‘s birthday. It’s the 630th anniversary of Jadwiga being crowned King of Poland. It’s the eve of Wear Something Gaudy Day. But, much more than this, it’s National Feral Cat Day.
It’s a ceaseless source of shame that it’s easier to be patient with cats than with people. I wish this weren’t so. I hope the cats are making me a better human. But it is true.

Tra-la… It’s May, which means spring is about to get real. We’re talking dogwoods. Tulips. Hydrangeas. And kittens. Baby kittens. Bring on the brain-liquefying, IQ-annihilating powers of kittens and their nuclear cuteness.
Any self-respecting feline will tell you: cats do not err. They do surprise you. They do make last-minute course corrections. But they do not make mistakes. N-O-N, no.
We did it, kittens. We marched forth. We outlasted the year that seemed like always winter and never Christmas. And now, Aslan is on the move. Now, wild dingoes couldn’t keep us from blooming.
