Tabby’s Place: the Next Generation

110110-gingko-5If this post’s subject line were a TV show, you just know Jonathan would be our Captain Picard. Only with hair. And a tendency to use the word “shmoldie.”

But this is even better: you have an opportunity to help the cats and yourself thanks to the amazing team at Next Generation Trust Services.

With bigger-than Jupiter thanks to Tabby’s Place Benefactors and all-around-awesome cat buddies Jaime Raskulinecz and Linda Varas, Webster and I are elated to share the following with y’all:

NEW INVESTMENT ACCOUNTS AT NEXT GENERATION TRUST SERVICES

WILL PAY IT FORWARD THROUGHOUT JUNE

TO BENEFIT NONPROFIT CAT SANCTUARY

Financial Services Firm Will Donate 50% of Set-Up Fees to Tabby’s Place

in Honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month

ROSELAND, N.J., May 3, 2011 – May 31 is “Hug Your Cat Day”—the same day Jaime Raskulinecz, CEO of Next Generation Trust Services, LLC (NGTS) in Roseland, N.J., will kick off her firm’s month-long fundraiser to support Tabby’s Place, a unique cage-free cat sanctuary in Ringoes, N.J. A cat lover and long-time supporter of Tabby’s Place, Raskulinecz announced that Next Generation Trust Services will donate one half of its account set-up fees to the charity throughout June in honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. In addition, Raskulinecz will personally match the donated amount from NGTS.

Next Generation Trust Services specializes in the administration of self-directed retirement plans for investors who wish to control their retirement strategies themselves through the nontraditional investments allowed in these tax-advantaged accounts. CEO Raskulinecz owns four cats now; all but one have been rescues from shelters or have found her in other ways.

“By donating a portion of the set-up fees for all new accounts opened in June, Next Generation Trust Services can help care for those cats that need Tabby’s the most, as animals with special needs are at the greatest risk for euthanasia.”

Tabby’s Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which operates a cat adoption center, hospital and hospice.  It provides a safe haven for cats rescued from shelters or hopeless situations, and those with special needs that would otherwise be euthanized. According to Development Director Angela Townsend, the proceeds from Next Generation Trust Service’s fundraiser will help defray the facility’s expenses to care for special needs cats who suffer from diabetes, cancer, paralysis, and blindness.

Raskulinecz will reach out to her clients and business colleagues throughout northern New Jersey to encourage them to support the feline fundraiser and help save some of those fabled nine lives. In addition to Tabby’s Place, Raskulinecz and her partner support the Homeless Animal Adoption League in Bloomfield, and will make a donation in June to that organization as well.

“Next Generation’s generosity goes a long way in helping us care for cats in the most desperate circumstances,” said Tabby Place’s Townsend. “We are operating at capacity and the need for our services grows every year. Ms. Raskulinecz’s ongoing support of Tabby’s Place will help us meet the needs of the most vulnerable cats, and to give them all the affection and care they deserve.”

Anyone interested in donating to Tabby’s through the NGTS June fundraiser may contact Jaime Raskulinecz at (973) 533-1880 or JaimeR@NextGenerationTrust.com. For more information about self-directed IRAs and the nontraditional investments they allow, visit www.NextGenerationTrust.com.

About Tabby’s Place

Tabby’s Place, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organization located in Ringoes, N.J., is a cage-free sanctuary that provides refuge to cats rescued from hopeless situations. The residents come primarily from public shelters where they had once been scheduled for euthanasia while others are placed through the facility’s Guardian Angel Program (a program designed to provide peace of mind to those who wish to plan for the care of their cats in the event of their death or inability to otherwise care for their pets.) The one-of-a-kind facility serves as a feline adoption center, hospital and hospice. It does not turn away any cat due to age, medical need or other potential obstacle to adoptability. Information on any Tabby’s Place programs is available by calling (908) 237-5300 or visiting www.tabbysplace.org.

Please do share this with friends, drop these phenomenal folks a line, and jump on board for this excellent promotion. You’d be hard pressed to find a harder-working or more gifted, cat-besotted team than Linda and Jaime. And, since Jaime and Linda have a longstanding, incurable affection for Maine Coons, I can imagine no finer way to end this post than with a Gingko overload. You can thank me later. 🙂
