Three certain cats’ names put together in the right way sound like a nursery rhyme. Spending time with three comically adorable cats can make anyone feel as joyous as a kindergartener with unlimited access to toys and a pony. There is no pony at Tabby’s Place (Once there was a grey one, but he has been adopted.), but there are plenty of toys…for the cats.
Be not dismayed! Be very mayed! (Made? Maid? Ahem. Mea culpa.) In fact, be very happily amazed. For the Jolly King Corvus trio abides within the sanctum sanctorum that is Tabby’s Place. If you feel as though you are falling, step inside the Suite E solarium. If you feel as if you are failing (You are not! PROMISE!!), hop on this ride. In an instant, and with no need for introductions, you will be swept up in a multi-toned, many-legged embrace of peace, love, and good cheer…oh, and loud cheering that can be heard from the sidelines, or, rather, coming from inside.
In about the warmest greeting any volunteer has ever had was recently dealt out by a couple of jokers in cat uniforms. Jolly and King swarmed two legs with body rubs, tail brushes, purrs, and infinite demands for affection and attention. Such it was that even Nirvana’s staunch skepticism of humans wavered ever so somewhat…ish. Shaggy was moved to join in with such nuzzles as even surprised this old friend of his. What a storied hour!
Alas, it was late in the day, so time was falling short to visit in the deeper ways of developing friendships. You know the kind of visit: every sentence leads to a tangent of similarities and eruptions of giggles; every breath is filled with hope and expectancy; every iota of every second of shared time is joyous and reaffirming; loud cries of delight waft through the air; there is much more giggling, and it is hard to leave.
Thus it was that, after forcibly separating from the dancing duo of plushy lovey-ness, Corvus was finally seen. Due to the hour, he was enthroned in his special overnight space, but his song filled the air. Apparently, his song often fills the air. It issues forth in eighth notes and whole notes and follows repeat signs with barely a rest, and there doesn’t ever seem to be a coda, so the music is as eternal as one little cat can make it. Corvus’s song almost drowns out Juel’s purr, but Juel’s purr is legion. Also, it’s hard to drown out any purr when one’s ear is pressed against the warm underside of a beloved friend (Don’t try this with just any cat! Ju-ju-beeeeeee, as he is known to at least one person, is a belly boy.).
There are none (at least humans) who would ever wish to drown out such songs or cease such swoopings and snuggles as those provided by Jolly, King, and Corvus. Even the warmest welcomes fall short of the sweetness these three deliver in their individual and combined ways. Judging the particulars of this situation (without knowing the full particulars that the amazing adoptions team can provide), it seems impossible that Happily Ever After for them will include the kind of long-term stay that is promised to every Tabby’s Place cat, if needed or wanted by the cat.
Imagine such a welcome home by any or all of these three charmers. Fill out an application. Find your forever bestest soul friend, and you will forever have the most delicious stories to tell about your every single welcome home. DIY your own happily every after. Or, just come visit. Meet the cats that write the stories. No strings attached, no matter how your heart strings might get pulled. While everyone would love to see you, Jolly King Corvus would be especially thrilled to have you visit their furry tail kingdom.
