Meet the community cats #2: Mr. Grey

Mr. Grey, the king of coolThere are cats, there are cool cats, and then there’s Mr. Grey.

Consider him the smooth jazz of the feline world. This lanky, laid-back, silvery boy is the epitome of mellooooow.

Mr. Grey's neighbor China rockin' out to catnip...not so much Mr. Grey's style. When everykitty around him is flying high on fresh-from-the-West-coast catnip, Mr. Grey keeps his cool. It’s just not his style to roll around and show his belly – no, Mr. Grey will enjoy his catnip by osmosis, laying on a toy and slowly going into a trance-like state of cool euphoria.

Even Mr. Grey’s voice is mellow – which is excellent, since he has no qualms about using it all day. Our silver gentleman’s meow is actually quite conversational, almost human-like, and always, well, cool.

Mr. Grey in Jonathan's officeAnd, amidst the daily soap opera that unfolds in the Community Room and lobby, even the highest-strung neighbors don’t stress Mr. Grey.

To be more accurate, nothing stresses Mr. Grey.

Like fellow Community Cat Mittens, Mr. Grey – also known as M.G., just “G”, or, to his most intimate, first-name-basis friends, Clancy – was once on diabetic death row. At age 13, with that cranky disease, our mellow boy was stressing out his human beans. But, through a series of very fortunate events, Mr. Grey eased his way to Tabby’s Place, where it’s all cool now.

We originally put Mr. Grey in Jonathan’s office, to be Jon and Pepper‘s office-mate following sweet Sinbad’s passing. But a cool cat like Mr. Grey flows where he wants to go, and somehow he became a lobby cat, and then a Community Room cat.Mr. Grey in the Community Room

Amazingly, Mr. Grey’s mellow ‘tude seems to be contagious, as the Community Room girls (none of whom particularly adore other cats) have no problem with the new dude in town.

But how could they? Mr. Grey is as easy as a blue sky and a soft-as-suede pair of favorite jeans. If he were a t-shirt, Mr. Grey would be one of those iconic “Life is Good” tees. And life is good for M.G.

He’s also doing an excellent job of making life good for us “Community Humans.” 🙂

  1. Awwwww…..Mr. Grey sounds like a total sweetie! Hugs and kisses to him as he chills. And of course love to all the Tabby’s Place residents and their human beans!

  2. I love his somewhat smaller (?) left eye. It’s as if he is always saying something like, “Indeed” or “Mr Livingston I presume” or “Yes, may I help you” or something all knowing.
He is a cutie and I hope he finds his family soon!
