Update for Shifty

Hello, My Dearest Fans!

I have been busy this past month, watching all the excitement as we start to move staff members as well as a few cats into Quinn’s Corner!

Our new addition is moving towards fully functional, as we start to utilize the new offices, laundry area, and scenic window perches for the few cats that will move in first. It has been a busy time to oversee from my own cat perch in the Employee/Volunteer Lounge; I cannot imagine the work that has gone on “behind the scenes” to make all of this happen.

The new laundry room in Quinn’s Corner!

My correspondent, Kim, told me about the day she took a tour of Quinn’s Corner.  The new laundry room looked like a full-service laundromat, with all the shiny devices working away on getting our bedding clean. She said she then moved down the hallway to the new staff offices.

While our Director Jonathan has chosen to remain in his current office space, most of the remaining staff will move to the offices in this new wing.  The offices allow the staff to oversee the volunteers as they work with the cats, as the walls are glass instead of the current wood doors.  Kim was excited to see that there was a great space available for our stroller program and its equipment.

The cat perches in the new wing will allow for the cats to sit and watch her “stroller cats” go by, as they continue on their route to the garden areas behind the sanctuary. I will keep you posted as we approach the public Grand Opening for Quinn’s Corner later this year.

I will not be moving from my current suite but will remain a vital part of the “meet and greet” of volunteers each day as they clock in for their shifts. The suite has been rearranged somewhat, and I watched carefully as moves were made to the room I call “home.”

One important change was that of my roommate Baby, who is now living in the Medical Suite. The vacancy was created in her new suite by the adoption of Luna, a very-beloved Tabby’s Place cat that was recently adopted. Baby moved to hang out with the veterinary staff, and her space was taken by Lynette, our newest diabetic resident. Whew! As with all Tabby’s Place feline introductions, Lynette was crated for an extended period of time.

Once Lynette is out and about in our suite, I will get a chance to explore a new friendship with her.  In the meantime, I am enjoying a new spot for my afternoon siestas; I have attached a photo for your enjoyment; check me out on top of her wire cage!

My new hangout on top of Lynette’s crate!

I am happy to say my health is status quo. Here at Tabby’s Place, that is considered a good thing! I am eating well, my diabetic levels are stable, and I rest and interact appropriately. I am quite the debonair fellow in my senior years, in my svelte body and gray coat, and my white bib and paws are immaculate.

As I look forward to Valentine’s Day here at Tabby’s Place, I need to look no further to know I am loved and adored.  Is there any better feeling? I think not!

I thank you, my most generous sponsors, for your continued and faithful support as we look ahead into 2023 together! It is sure to be an exciting year here!

Your friend,
Shifty
