As you may know, this special boy came a long way to be part of the Tabby’s Place family. Let’s just say that worlds were moved to get this sweet boy to a safe place where he can be loved, nurtured and medically cared for until he finds his forever home. This has been an exciting month for Cotton. He returned to Tabby’s Place from foster care and he was also neutered. He has settled in wonderfully and was “promoted” to the Lobby where he hangs out in his own playpen. He loves getting visitors, which of course means lots of affection and playtime. Cotton seems to have an ever-growing fan club. He has an enormous personality and lights up the whole room. 

This lucky boy has his own set of fancy schmancy diapers in which he scoots around. Since he has more recently been allowed out of his playpen, being on the floor has irritated his hind stumps and they began to bleed. What we discovered was that they had never had a chance to properly heal. We began bandaging the hind stumps to allow the healing process to take place. Now that the tissue is healing, we realize that there is actually exposed bone at the end of each limb. He will be going for a surgical consultation to see what might be the best course of action for him.

The Lobby has an interesting cast of characters, including Anka, who does not appear to be Cotton’s best friend. Anka had some episodes of aggression and lured Cotton into a headlock on one of Cotton’s first days out of his playpen. Cotton now knows to take a wide berth around Anka’s pen, or at least until his behavior medication makes him a little more tolerable to be around.
