Dear Carrot friends,
Our sweet Carrot has been spending a lot of time in the suite lately, and not much time outside in his solarium. I guess it has simply been too cold for him. Even Sparkly has been inside a lot, and it takes a lot to make Sparkly come inside. We are having a few mild days now, so here’s hoping they can enjoy some solarium time. (Just as I wrote this I went to Carrot’s room to check his whereabouts, and he was in the solarium.) It’s an unseasonably warm day today, and the cats are making the most of it.
During the last few Aged to Purrfection visits, Rose has not been happy. She has been hiding under the blankets in the stroller, and not really wanting attention. Not wanting want to stress her out, we’ve taken her out of the program for now. She can rejoin at some point, or maybe just go occasionally, so it doesn’t become overwhelming for her. But Carrot needs a new traveling companion for his senior visits, and we think we have a good match for him – Angelo.
Angelo recently went through the Aged to Purrfection screening and passed with flying colors. Angelo is a very mellow and friendly guy, so I think he will be a good match for Carrot. I’ll let you know how things go once this new team starts traveling together. Carrot has still been enjoying his senior home visits and loves the attention and being petted. We’re hopeful he won’t mind Angelo tagging along.
Not much to report in medical news, which is always good news. He did have another mild case of chin acne, which he gets from time to time. We treated it with daily Stridex pad scrubs, and it cleared up quickly.
Carrot never knows if I am entering his suite to give him treats, or to express his bladder, and you can see the conflict in his face. He starts to run towards me, obviously thinking “Yay, treats!”, then he looks suspicious, turns around and starts to go in the opposite direction, obviously thinking “Nope, nothing in her hands, must be time to be expressed”. It’s quite comical to see his thought process.
The other day I was trying to catch him to express his bladder, and he would not stop running away! He’s very fast and can zip through the tunnel to the the solarium on the other side very easily to escape. I eventually caught up to him, but it took me a while.
If you have never visited Tabby’s Place and Carrot, I highly recommend it. Come for a visit and sit with Carrot. He will climb into your lap and make all your stress just melt away. Carrot loves nothing more than when someone visits him, sits on the floor, and lets him climb into their lap. Well, unless you have treats, he might love that more. 😉
That’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you all for your continued support of Carrot. Without you cats like Carrot would have nowhere to go.
