Update for Carrot

Yay! It’s MY day!

Happy Spring, Carrot Fans!

Our sweet Carrot has been in good health and spirits this month. I wonder if he was aware that April 4th was International Carrot Day. Everyone treated him like a celebrity that day and he loved every minute of it!

His newest roommate, Tom, is turning out to be a bit of a bully though. On several occasions, he has been seen chasing Carrot either off the ramp or through the tube to the solarium. Tom is a fan of the solarium— just like Carrot— and they do fine once they are out there together. The issues only arise when it comes to indoor encounters.

Tom, following Carrot around like an annoying little brother!

On my most recent visit, Tom was following poor Carrot around and doing everything he was doing, like an annoying little brother. If Carrot climbed on the scratcher, Tom was right there to sniff his behind and follow him up! As you can see from the one picture. Poor Carrot did not realize Tom was right behind him. Luckily, no drama ensued.

I stopped by Tabby’s Place for a foster parent class a few weeks ago. The class was great and very informative. I’ve been fostering kittens on and off for years, and it was lovely to meet up with the other foster parents. I’ve heard we have many pregnant kitties, so kitten season is definitely upon us!

My husband came to pick me up, and we decided to visit Carrot. We entered Carrot’s solarium, and I immediately sat on the floor. My husband opted for a chair. Carrot perked right up and ran straight over… and then bypassed me to jump in my husband’s lap! I was mildly offended, my husband thought it was hysterical. Carrot really can be a piece of work! We visited Steven next, and thankfully he came right to me and ignored my husband. Balance was restored!

Strolling season has once again begun at Tabby’s Place (at least when it isn’t raining). We have a dedicated team of volunteers who take our kitties out for a walk around our beautiful property in cat-friendly strollers. They visit our memorial garden, pass the other solariums, and check out the bird feeders.

Carrot is on the approved list, and he absolutely loves his walks. The team ensured he was one of the first cats out for the season once the weather turned nice.

Carrot loves to get his chin brushed!

If you are local, and you have ever thought about volunteering at Tabby’s Place, please come to our Volunteer Open House on April 27th. It will be a great day, filled with tours, refreshments, and lots of cats. I will be there giving tours and would love to meet you!

Thank you as always for sponsoring our sweet Carrot!
