Gold glitters. Diamonds shine. Pearls glow. And black cats…sparkle? Believe it or not, we’ve found one who does. If you look closely enough, you’ll see bright white flecks of fur standing out in her black coat, like stars sparkling in an inky evening sky. Meet Sparkly.
Several years ago, Sparkly once knew the comfort of her own home. Sadly, her human companion had to enter hospice care, so Sparkly joined our ranks through the Exceptional Circumstances program.
Just like the stars in the sky, Sparkly is a quiet beauty. She can be on the shy side, but has made a lot of progress through the Befriending Fearful Felines program, in which volunteers spend one-on-one time with some of our more timid residents. Although it takes a little while to earn her trust, she can be sweet once she trusts you. She loves treats and will always come over if she hears the rattle of the bag! With her most trusted humans, she will eat treats out of their hands and loves to get neck and butt scratches.
Here at our sanctuary, Sparkly is very comfortable with other cats and she loves spending time in the solarium. Sparkly loves to hang out with her fellow felines and would be an excellent addition to a multi-cat household. She can often be found curled up in her favorite spot on top of the ramps, sleepily watching over her kingdom and keeping a sharp eye on some of the rowdier residents in her suite.
