Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

This week we’ve had some really cold weather.  You might think the cold would make Carrot want to stay inside the suite more often, but no, he is still hanging out in his solarium most of the time. Most days this week he had the whole solarium to himself, as his friends didn’t want to be outside in the cold. Even Sparkly — who loves being in the solarium — was mostly in the suite this week. Our Carrot is very determined to be outside!

I went into the solarium earlier this week to express Carrot’s bladder, and as soon as he saw me he ran to the litter pan, stood there and waited for me. I was surprised at this new development, but very happy I didn’t have to chase him around to express him.

Carrot and Wilbur seem to have settled their differences, at least for now. They can hang out together now without fighting. Suite C is much calmer this month, which is a Thanksgiving blessing.

Carrot has made lots of visits to the senior homes this month, and he had a wonderful time, of course. We have a few new cats joining Aged to Purrfection, so Carrot will have some competition for the nursing home visits. Steven and Alice recently graduated from the Aged to Purrfection training and joined the program as therapy cats. Also, Denni, who went blind recently and was taken out of the program, rejoined Aged to Purrfection with her partner,  Pepita. Even blind, Denni loves being a therapy cat and loves visiting the seniors. We have a lot of homes we visit now, so we really needed more therapy cats.  It’s important for the seniors to see as many of the amazing Tabby’s Place residents as possible!  So don’t worry, Carrot will still have lots of opportunities to visit with the seniors.

Carrot is very excited about our upcoming event, Thanksgiving With The Cats, which will be held Saturday, November 23rd from noon till 4 pm at Tabby’s Place. Carrot knows, as a veteran of this event, that visitors tour around Tabby’s Place and give the cats ‘turkey’ and other yummy treats. Carrot is hoping lots of people come to visit, and that will equate to lots of treats. If you are in the area on November 23, please join us! It will be a fun-filled day, with tours of Tabby’s Place, treats for the cats and humans, and a wonderful silent auction with some great things to bid on.

In medical news, Carrot had an episode of diarrhea this month. He was put on medication right away and was quickly feeling better.

That’s the extent of Carrot news for now. As always, thank you all for your continued support of Carrot.  Without your kindness and generosity, we couldn’t do what we do.

Karina
