Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Happy August, Friends!

Adam and I hope that you are well and enjoying your summer.  We are doing fine and enjoying these bright sunny days.

Adam is doing very well and spending time both in the solarium and in the suite.  He is becoming pickier about the weather lately.  When it is really hot outside Adam takes refuge inside the building.  It is not taking super high temperatures outside for Adam to do his “melting-cat” act.  As soon as the thermometer reaches about 90, Adam is inside and staying cool.

Adam’s weight has been fluctuating again.  We are closely monitoring this.  Otherwise, he seems to be doing well on the medication adjustments we have been working on with him.  We continue to struggle to regulate his stool.  Right now it is too firm, but it is better than it was.  Poor Adam.  Trying to find the right consistency of stool for him is a never-ending project for the vet team.  He handles it all like a trooper.

It is so nice to be back volunteering at Tabby’s Place now that a few volunteers have been brought back to help with cleaning and feeding.  I help with morning cleaning a few days a week and on Thursday afternoons, I have the pleasure of feeding dinner to the Suites.  This is the best and most rewarding job because the cats greet me with great joy.  I feel so loved. (I realize it’s actually the food that they are excited about, but I accept the adulations anyway.)

Adam is so much fun to bring food to in the afternoons.  He is usually outside at that time of day and I bring him his little bowl of yummies right to the solarium.  Sometimes he doesn’t even sit up to receive his dinner and I just leave it in front of his nose.  Other times he is inside the suite sleeping in a cubby.  When I come in with the food tray, he comes lumbering out of the cubby and looks for his dish.  It is really cute.  He likes to have me leave the dish in one particular spot for him to eat.

Adam is still enjoying frequent stroller rides from many volunteers. He loves being outside and sniffing the flowers.  He is a funny guy and gets very adamant when he wants to tell his chauffer that the ride is over and he wants to go inside.  Apparently he makes hissing noises at the door when he decides that he wants to go back inside.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Tabby’s Place at this tough time.  Everyone is so grateful for all that you do to keep our kitties safe and loved.  The cats have no idea that anything has changed about the world outside their walls.  Adam is blissful and so happy to have food, pets, and attention from his friends, both human and feline.

He wants you to know that he loves you and hopes that he can see you sometime soon.  Stay safe and be well until we update you again on all of Adam’s adventures!
