Special Update for Adam

Special Update for Adam

Adam goes home.

Dear Friends,

I have wonderful news to share…

Adam went home on March 4! He has been adopted! I know that you all share my happiness at this wonderful news. One of the staff members at Tabby’s Place, who has been in love with Adam for several years, is finally in a place in life where she can welcome our little tabby man into her home. And welcome him she did! We are all thrilled for Adam and are looking forward to hearing about his many new adventures.

Before he left, his shoulder started giving him trouble (our executive director jokingly asked if it was his “pitching” arm). Adam also developed an upper respiratory infection that seemed to be circulating in Suite A. He was started on a round of oral antibiotics and has responded well to the medical treatment. He had full blood work run and nothing unusual came up. Adam also had his ears checked and there was nothing amiss there. Health-wise, he is doing well and ready to set off on his new adventure.

Adam prepares for take off!

Just before he left for home, he became very fond of a new cardboard rocket ship that landed in Suite A. It was adorable. He wouldn’t leave the cockpit of the rocket. I have never really seen him take an interest in a toy before, but he couldn’t get enough of that rocket!

I have heard from Adam’s new mom that he is doing really well and getting used to being in a home. Adam was at Tabby’s Place for over ten years, so this is definitely a new beginning for him. She writes, “Adam seems to like apartment life! He’s been hanging in his cat tree and sitting in the window sill. He loves to walk through all our plants and sit in all the IKEA bags we have around. He learned quickly how to use the stair to get on my bed and is slowing getting to know his feline roommates. He loves my roommate and rubs all over her feet (it’s really weird). He loves to watch TV and will just sit on the couch with us watching. Lastly his favorite thing right now is to play guard dog and run to see who’s opening the door.”

So, as you can see, Adam is doing well. He’s enjoying his new humans, as well as his new cat friends, an orange cat named Winkle and a calico named Wanda. Just so you can see for yourself how much fun Adam is having in his apartment, his adopter shared a short video of him chasing a tiny object around the apartment. If you listen, you’ll hear him squawk with excitement:

Adam enjoys apartment life!

Thank you so much for being such a loyal friend to Adam. He has appreciated all of your generosity and love over the years and has been able to achieve that ultimate Tabby’s Place dream, a home of his own. I will miss him terribly, but I am so happy that he has a home to call his own. I know you will miss him as well, but what a happy ending to Adam’s fairy tale. Dreams really can come true.

Sue

If you’d prefer to choose a different cat to sponsor, you can meet them all here. Please feel free to email us if you’d like to transfer your support to a different kitty. (Otherwise, going forward you will receive updates on Steven each month.)

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity to Adam. You’ve helped to make this marvelous news possible for him, and we’re so grateful!
