Happy December friends!
Adam and I hope that this update finds you well. Winter is upon us and so is the holiday season. Adam enjoys the holidays and all of the special treats and visitors that this time of year brings.
The vet team at Tabby’s Place has been very busy working on a new diet plan for Suite A to help with all of the many troubles that the cats who inhabit this room experience. The diet plan was recently completed and it has gone very well. The cats are gaining some weight and the room is much less of a mess. Adam has had several occasions of very firm stool and constipation since the diet change was completed in Suite A. His medications, are being adjusted and he is being monitored. Since he is expressed 3 times a day, this is easy to do. We are trying to find a happy place between leaking and stuck stool with Adam’s digestive system.
Since winter is now here, Adam has become a hibernating cat once again. Every time I have tried to visit with him, he is curled up in a cubby in Suite A sound asleep. I haven’t seen him out in the solarium in quite some time. When I do try and visit with him, he will open one eye and give me quite a look! If I continue to try and interact with him, he gives me a little swat and tells me in no uncertain terms to go away! I had forgotten about last winter’s hibernating Adam, but I guess we’re in for a few months of a sleepy, cranky boy. I can’t say as I blame him. When it’s dark and cold, I want to hibernate too!
There is a new cat in Suite A that seems to be turning that room upside down. Her name is Clara Rose and she is a seal-point Himalayan. She is beautiful and seems very nice. I met her on Saturday. She had taken over the solarium. Only Abe was out there with her. All of the other cats had retreated to the Suite. I was really surprised to find Steven inside because he is never in the Suite! I am guessing that some words were exchanged, and at least for now, Clara Rose has won the right to the solarium. Perhaps this is part of Adam’s hibernation, although he had started that before Miss Clara moved in.
Adam sends you some sleepy kisses, friends. He wants to thank you for all that you do for him and for his friends. Your generosity makes it possible for the vet team to continue to search for just the right solution for all of the complicated tummies in Suite A. Adam benefits so much from this generosity and it is really helping him. Adam and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and we’ll be back in the New Year with another tale from Suite A.
