Inflammatory Bowel Disease

It’s true that Abe is not a big cat, but what he lacks in size he makes up in personality and talking.

Abe is overall a bit of a weirdo, but a completely loveable one! He will chat with visitors about his day and often looks for attention. He loves the freedom of the solarium, where he can enjoy some fresh air and sunlight in a safe environment. He’s mostly a solitary guy, but he gets along with his feline suitemates. When the temperature drops, he even occasionally cuddles with other cats. He is gentle towards people and cats alike.

Abe is one of our Special Needs crew. He has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which sometimes causes loose stool. His condition is currently managed by a special diet as well as medication, and he’ll have to remain on both for the foreseeable future.

Most shelters would not be able to keep Abe for very long, but Special Needs cats are truly special to Tabby’s Place, and we will keep and care for Abe for as long as necessary. Even so, we realize that our care is no substitute for a loving home. If you have a place in your heart and home for this loving boy, come in to meet him during our public hours. Please see our Visit Us page for updated information.
