Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Miss Lush and Plush

Kitty LeFey’s Cosmos: Miss Lush and Plush

Left afloat is not the same as abandoned. Left in the care of Tabby’s Place is about as far from abandoned as can be imagined. Such it is that the divine Miss Kitty is now a lobby denizen, joining such noted luminaries as Bello and Berry.

When Miss Kitty’s family situation changed, she disembarked safely in these hallowed halls. As a resident of the sanctum sanctorum for felines, the remedy is being applied to turn her situation from hopeless to loveful. Beneficial side effects of this restorative therapy include excesses of fish mush, generous portions of pets and scritches, fellow felines to befriend, and ample human attention and caregiving. All of this is provided within the trappings of a cozy living space designed specifically for cats.

More than simply receiving that which is dotingly bestowed, the fluffy, puffy, lushly grey beauty began giving back generously as soon as her name was heard. Once Miss Kitty was introduced to the lobby, the amusing confusings began to a certain someone’s particular delight. This delight is usually reserved for creatures who share names with such notable felinages (That’s the cat version of “personages.”), such as Bob, Susan, and King Kong.

Not being fortunate enough to share such a moniker as these, on tour guide duty, my nom not-de plume is displayed. However, my ears remain attuned to cats, various other animals, and pixies, as well all the ways in which humans refer to me. From the first misinterpreted, “Miss Kitty,” I was eager to make the acquaintance of my pen-namesake and newest best friend forever (Always assured at Tabby’s Place!).

There is no debating the fact that Miss Kitty (cat) and Miss Kitty (person) were meant to be together on Friday afternoons. There is no doubt that this shared time/space situation will not last for long. With her sweet, gentle demeanor the divine Miss K is already well on her way to winning over hearts (and hopefully a hearth).

As of her very recent entry into free-to-walk-about-the-cabin status, Miss Kitty has found a comfy preferred position in a cubby at the bottom of a cat tree. By the time this post is posted, she may have found a different preferred position, or several. Whatever spot she fancies, in the lobby she will find everything she wants and needs. Time will tell if she, like Tootsie, will become a wand-fiend, or if she, like Moo Moo, will become a Zen master. If she so chooses, she can be both. As a cat, Miss Kitty encompasses everything.

“Everything” fails to fully describe this lush and plush kitty. Lush and plush are also incompletely descriptive. As it happens, Miss Lush and Plush is actually Miss Kitty’s nom de plume. Look for her blog in “Felines Today!” Okay, “Felines Today!” doesn’t actually exist, but it could, and none would be more eloquent and expressive in blogging than the cat Miss Kitty. The tales she would tell would be wonderfully wild and imaginative far beyond the abilities of human Miss Kitty. Surely, she would write even more wonderful things than of dreams of chasing mice and catching shooting stars.

While awaiting her first edition, we are also awaiting her first adoption application. It is bound to come soon for a cat that is so endearing. While waiting, Miss Kitty will exercise her artistry. Meanwhile, we volunteers and staff will ensure that she has everything she needs to express herself fully. It won’t be for very long.

Undoubtedly, Miss Kitty will soon become a household name.
That household could be yours.
