Now you’ve really done it, kittens.
You’ve loved as though Love is your first, middle, and last name.
You’ve broken all the records.
And you’ve boldly helped to mend the world.

Or did you not know the greatness of your deeds, Love Love Love (may I call you by your first, middle, and last name)?
Perhaps, you were crouched catlike over your checkbook, still waiting for that first cup of coffee to kick in.
Maybe you were curled up with your keyboard, or scrolling on your phone.
You may have been sitting on the floor of the Tabby’s Place Lobby, draped in Deku or blanketed with Berry.
Or you might have glimpsed our Dahlia all the way from Norway or Nepal.
When you touched her face on your screen, her warm little forehead bumped you across the miles.
When you read the stories of the cats with no hope, you refused to take “no” for an answer.

When we asked you to save the “unsave-able” and intervene in the impossible, you heard your name.
And now, Love Love Love (you really should have your driver’s license updated to read your true name), you have carried our cats to the most magnificent, unprecedented, powerfully life-saving Linda Fund in Tabby’s Place history.
Your generosity vaulted our cats over a goal that at first seemed wild. Five hundred thousand dollars! Can you imagine?
That’s the power to pull cats back to life when even the surgeons say, “it’s too late.”

That’s the glory of glaring back at “hopeless” and saying, “you can’t have this one. This is our Dahlia. Our Scrabble. Our Graham. Our Blue.” That’s Love stronger than death, for all the orphans and wanderers who will collapse at our door and rise again.
Can you imagine?
The cats could imagine, so we could do no less.
And now, Love Love Love, you’ve done it. You’ve made a way out of no way, for the cats we have not yet met. You’ve rewritten tragic endings before they can begin.
We can’t wait to meet the cats you will save this year.
We can’t thank you enough for being true to love’s name.

And before we boldly go into an October already furnished with hope, let us gaze with golden eyes at the September where you shone:
