I don’t know about you, but I can’t resist an article that (i) has a photo of a cat playing a guitar, and (ii) starts with the phrase, “Originally known as the “Rat Lady of Chicago, …”” .
Like me, you’re probably wondering why anyone would give up training rats to work with cats. When asked, Samantha Martin said, “While I will always love rats, you can only go so far as a rat trainer.” Something to keep in mind if you need to look for a job during these tough economic times.
If you’re chafing at the bit to know more, read the entire interview. After reading it, you will want to see the cats rocking out. I was looking forward to this, but was quite disappointed at the video, which you can see here.
Not only are the cats not really playing (yes, I did think they would be) or singing, but why did they have to pick such an insipid song. “Electric Avenue” by Eddy Grant. Sheesh!!
Personally, I would have gone for a cover of the Plasmatics singing that classic “Headbanger.” There’s no accounting for taste, I guess.

I thought it was a pretty good video. I was wondering how they got the cat to play the drums. I was sent a Christmas card with cats meowing to the tune of a Christmas song. I’ll e-mail it to you if you want.
I like the fact that they’re playing with tiny ukuleles.

We had a beloved cat in our family, “Tag,” while growing up-she loved it when my sister and I practiced for our music lesons; a trill on the piano would bring her running! We used to put my father’s old guitar on floor of den…Tag would sit down next to it, and pluck the strings with her teeth while we played-duet with a cat, anyone? She was better at it than featured video cats……
