Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

Our Carrot has become an ice skater!

We are not sure how, but a lot of water got onto the floor in solarium C, which is Carrot’s solarium. There is a faucet out there, so maybe it got left on accidentally.

Anyway, it was a very cold day, so all the water froze into a large skating rink. Someone went to visit the solarium. Carrot was at the top of the ramp, and he got excited to see a visitor and ran down the ramp. Suddenly, Carrot was skidding sideways across the solarium! He wasn’t hurt, and knowing Carrot, he probably thought it was fun. One of our kind volunteers offered to chip up all the ice and dry the solarium, so no one would get hurt. We have the best volunteers!

Everything is fine and dandy in terms of Carrot’s health, which is always good news. Our boy has been enjoying consistently good health lately.

During the very cold weather, we did have to close all the solariums for a few days. We didn’t want any of the cats to venture outside in such brutal conditions. Carrot and his friends were NOT happy being kept inside the suite. We tried to explain it was for their own good, but they didn’t want to hear it. They were very happy once we opened the solariums again. Carrot goes out every day, even in this cold, and so do his friends Sparkly, Faye and Pancake. They don’t stay out all day at the moment, but they do still enjoy being out there. I always wonder why they don’t stay inside where it’s warm.

Carrot had another wonderful trip to the senior home this month. He went with his traveling buddy, Rose, again. Carrot and Rose are such a great pair for this program. They both love attention, and thoroughly enjoy visiting the seniors.

We just added two new senior homes to Aged to Purrfection, which we are very excited about. This program has made so many seniors happy, and the cats have such a good time on their visits, so it is beyond wonderful we can expand and grow this program. The cats who participate will be very happy too, because they will get to go out more often, visit more seniors, and get even more attention.

Our sweet Carrot can be quite the comedian when he wants to be. Recently, it was time to express his bladder, so I entered suite C (he was inside). Instead of running to me like he usually does, he ran out to the solarium. He sometimes does that, so I went outside, expecting him to run to me outside. As soon I got near him, he ran up the ramp and back inside. This went on, back and forth, for the next 10 minutes, until he finally stopped and ran up to me. I swear, he was laughing at me because I couldn’t catch him.

Well, that’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you all for everything you do for our fun-loving boy.
