Update for Viktor

Greetings Viktor Fans!

As we March into spring, our boy is definitely starting the new season off well! Viktor began tapering off his steroid as his nose was doing so much better. However, it seems that the steroids are responsible for the improvement, as his congestion got worse on the lower dose. He is once again on the higher dose and is once again doing very well on it. Since he is already diabetic, at least he is not at risk of becoming diabetic because of the steroids.

Our visits are always full of cuddles and belly scratches, but I decided to try something new on our last visit.

If you have ever visited Tabby’s Place,  you know there are plexiglass tubes (also called tunnels, even though they are in the ceiling!) that take our residents from their suites to their solariums. I had been hoping Viktor would find the ramp to the tube, but alas, our sweet boy had not.  I decided to wrap him in a towel and sneak him across the hall and through the human door to his solarium.

At first, he seemed a bit confused but quickly realized that he was safe in my arms. He also realized that he was not fully outside and 100% safely indoors. I was able to set him down on the cat shelving, and he enjoyed watching the birds and sniffing the breeze! Pepita was out as well. I had hoped to get an adorable photo of the two, however, Viktor had other ideas! Our sweet boy is still a little shy, so he did not approach her. In retrospect, he had never been out to the solarium before that day, and since Pepita is always out there, they had probably never met before. After a while, it was time to head back inside for his nebulizer treatment,  so I carried him back into his suite. Overall, I’d say he thoroughly enjoyed it!

I hope everyone has checked out the Viktor merchandise at the Tabby’s Place shop on Zazzle! I received my “Viktor merch” last week – magnet, coffee mug, and t-shirt! If not, here is the link again: Zazzle Tabby’s Place Viktor Merchandise.

Thank you again for sponsoring our sweet boy! We have some exciting news brewing for next month!
