Update for Rose

Update for Rose

Dear sponsors,

I hope that your Thanksgiving was wonderful and filled with lots of treats for your tummy! If I could have, I would have baked you a real Southern pecan pie.

November was a good month for me. I was fortunate to be in good spirits and good health. I am more active in the lobby these days, love greeting visitors and following volunteers with food trays. I feel more pep in my step!

My correspondent always greets me with a kiss on my head and a lickable treat when she arrives for her shift.

I have good medical news to share! I no longer need to be crated in the evening, so if I want to take a midnight stroll around the lobby, I am free to do so!

Paws crossed that I am given permission by our pawsome vet team to return to the “Aged to Purrfection” team next year. I am honored to be part of a program that offers comfort and love to people who need an extra smile in their lives. When I cuddle up to a senior and see them smile, it makes my belly feel warm.

I also participate in Tabby’s Place’s “BFF” program. I am assigned to volunteers who spend extra time with me. As I fall asleep, I sometimes see the volunteer watching over me, and I know I am a lucky kitty.

My Auntie Daisy (floral names run in the family) taught us to always count our blessings, and I believe with all my heart that the sweet-tea glass is always half full, never half empty!

I’m reflecting on this wisdom as I look back over 2022. As you know, my year started smoothly, and then became my biggest challenge yet. They say “cats have nine lives,” but I think I must have at least eighteen!

But my mama always found strength in hard times, and this is a part of my DNA. Your li’l black-and-white furry girl may be on the petite side, but I possess the strength and courage of a big cat.

Life sometimes feels like a movie on fast forward, doesn’t it? After this past year, I want to slow down and enjoy every second of every day. I am so blessed to be here with you. If you were beside me right now, I would give you a big Rose hug and VIP access to a belly rub! Thank you for making every day special, and for being by my side fighting these illnesses with me. You, my sponsor, are my family.

Tabby’s Place continues to operate at warp speed and generate positive energy. We have had many adoptions this month, Including several cats who had been here for a while.

Charm, my “cat crush” in the lobby, was adopted and is living his best life. Even though Hips wants to be the lobby king, I think he misses Charm’s calming presence.

I have a Hips story to share! One day, there was an open cat treat bag on top of Anka’s soft crate. Hips must have X-ray vision…he spotted the bag from across the lobby. With the grace of an Olympic gymnast, Hips walked around Anka’s enclosure like he was on a balance beam. Those treats were his target. He was very close to being captured by Anka!

A staff member acted quickly and whisked Hips away, averting a clash of the titans! We have a great group of cats in the lobby, and it’s never a dull moment!

The holiday spirit is surrounding Tabby’s Place, and I enjoy staring at the lobby decorations with Disco and Boobalah.

I was so surprised and touched to receive my first holiday gift from a special friend, an Advent Calendar with catnip goodies!

I hope that all your wishes for the holidays and New Year come to pass and then some! My holiday wishes have already come true, because I am here with you as you read my update.

Happy holidays, and may the New Year be filled with lots of love and happiness…sending you festive hot chocolate with marshmallow whisker kisses!

Love,
Rose
