Elliot’s Episodes #9

Good Morning, Dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place Lovers Everywhere!

Welcome to my latest episode. As usual, I have much to share this month.

I want to wish all the fathers out there, both human and animal, a happy Father’s Day. I have had some experience in this area as I used to be the oldest kitten in the kitten room.  All those little gremlins kept me hopping as I became their “adopted” daddy. The staff at Tabby’s Place let me teach the kittens proper behaviors with play, eating, litter box going, and all-around being good and not too bad. We all wanted them to get adopted into loving homes. And all my training did a lot of good as the adoptions rolled in. But after I totally outgrew the tiny ones, I was moved to my present location in Suite B to become a part of the bigger kitties crew. It wasn’t easy teaching the little ones and staying on their cases, but I did it… and I so respect and admire all the dads out there as being a parent is one of the hardest jobs in the world.

I’m always exploring…

My friend Mary Anne came to visit me today.  If you recall, last month she came with a doggy mask and I was a bit upset. This month she came with a kitty mask (Yay!). But I still have work to do with her since she wore a tee that said, “Wake up, Hug Dog, Coffee, Have a Good Day.” Let’s hope she wears a kitty tee next month.

I am in very good health and spirits this month. And I have made a wonderful friend here in Suite B. His name is Shaggy and he is a gorgeous dilute brown-and-white young man. Sometimes when I am asleep, Shaggy will come over to me and bop me on the head to wake me up to play.

Playing in the tunnel

But this time on her visit, Mary Anne found me lying in one of the beds next to the big window. She came over and started to pet me and I just loved it all. When she sat down on one of the cubes, I went right over and started marking my ears on her little pink book. She didn’t mind that, but she did say, “No!” when I started to chew on the corners—LOL!  Faye stood guard atop one of the cubes for a while and Mary Anne gave her a lot of pets, too. I have to share Mary Anne with the other kitties. But the calls of the kibble and Shaggy were too much for me and off I went.

Shaggy and I played with the long tube tunnel. He would go in one end and stick his head out and I would bop him. Then he would run out the other end and I would go after him. After a while, Shaggy found a little green ball and batted that for a bit. Then he came over to Mary Anne and sniffed her jeans, socks, and shoes. I watched from behind the little brown cardboard house. When Shaggy was done, it was my turn.

The fourth of July is coming up soon. That means lots of loud noises with all the fireworks. I am so glad I am safe here at the sanctuary and do not have to worry about loud noises and maybe getting hurt. So I have an idea:  instead of buying fireworks, why not buy a bag of cat or dog kibble and some cans of wet food and donate them to either your local shelter or Tabby’s Place?

My friend, Shaggy

Thank you for all your generosity to me! Be safe and well, and enjoy Father’s Day and July 4th…thanks to you, I will!

Love to all,
Elliot
