Update for Cisco

Update for Cisco

Greetings Cisco fans,

I hope you are enjoying the glorious days of June.  I almost said “sunshine,” but I think that is yet to come.  We have had some wild weather lately!

After last month’s worries, I’m delighted to share that Cisco is having a much happier, healthier month. He continues to be reassuringly cranky for medication, and he’s welcomed new Suite FIV residents Jake and JJ warmly. Then again, Cisco has always preferred his own species to ours.

Alas, the fighting in FIV has continued to escalate. In the most recent ruffle, poor Arlo received serious bite wounds on his hind end. So far Cisco has kept out of these battles, and we’ll do everything in our power to restore peace to the suite so no one else gets hurt.

JJ & Jake

When I recently visited Cisco, he was receiving subcutaneous fluids, and to my surprise, he took it like a champ. Of course, that has all to do with our fabulous veterinary technicians. They are the best!  I was a little concerned that he might be extra grumpy after his fluids treatment, but to the contrary, he seemed happy and content. He had a few treats and even allowed me to give him scritches on the top of his head.  Hey may also be feeling better because we’ve added an iron supplement to his regimen, to help prevent anemia.

Jake and JJ now have free roam of the FIV+ Suite and are quite active. They are both very sweet and showed me how good they are at stretching and using the scratching post.

The solarium was calm and quiet, and then I stirred things up. Shea, Oscar, and Rufus were taking in the nice weather. While they were all interested in the visitor (me), Oscar turned on a ‘take me home now’ performance. He is going to sweep someone off their feet with all that loving he has to offer. For the time being, though, I think he might be the official solarium greeter.

Thank you for your kindness and support. With your love and generosity, Tabby’s Place can give Cisco all that he needs and all that he wants. What more could our sweet, handsome kitty ask for?

Have a fabulous month!
