Update for Charlie

Hooray for May!

Hello, my dear sponsors!

I’m just waking up from a rare snooze in the fresh air solarium, where my scribe was surprised to find me today. She and I cuddled for quite a while, and she took this picture of me as I contemplated the mysteries of the universe (yes, cats often have deep philosophical thoughts). It’s how I stay so chill and mellow all the time.

Hey, here’s some old news made new: We found out here at Tabby’s Place that all us kitties in Suite FIV actually do, in fact, have FIV! Why would this possibly be news, you ask? Well, recent developments in FIV testing led our vet team to retest all the cats in Suite FIV. Previously, any cat who had been vaccinated for FIV would test positive for the virus, even if he was not infected. A new test can now distinguish between truly positive cats and vaccinated cats, so the vet team ran this test on me and all my roommates. As it happens, every one of us is truly FIV+! So there you have it, the biggest news in my little grey furry world.

So as my scribe and I write my update this month, her attention is, of course, on me. But “sunshine boys” Buddy and Newman, who tend to clamor for every outdoor visitor, are climbing all over her. Shameless, those two. But then again, so am I — albeit more so for the indoor visitors, since I have been described as the first and giddiest indoor greeter. It’s not a bad gig, and I take my job very seriously.

Go and greet this month with giddiness, and enjoy your world wherever you are. I will be sending my love and gratitude your way, as always.

With love, peace, and purrs…
