Update for Adam

Happy New Year!

Adam and I send our best wishes for a happy and healthy 2021.

Adam has been in steady health this month.  His weight fluctuates along with his moods.  He gets cranky after being expressed and on at least one occasion swatted at poor Rose who had just come into the Suite for the evening.  Adam spends more time indoors resting these days.  He is a sun worshipper and without sunbeams to bask in, why brave the cold of the solarium when there are cozy blankets indoors?

Adam is still getting taken for stroller rides frequently.  He enjoys the attention, but I don’t think he is always appreciative of the ride itself.  The volunteer in charge of stroller rides tried something new this month.  She started playing classical music for the cats as they rode along.  She thought it might calm Adam on his rides because he really doesn’t like the road noise on the front side of the building.  Adam seemed to like it at first, but when they passed the doors that he knows to lead back inside, he let out a big howl.  He makes it very clear that he is done with rides when he wants to be done, not when the driver wants to be done!

I have been missing Adam terribly.  I realized today that I haven’t seen him since August.  It feels like a lifetime ago.  I really miss that adorable little tabby face and Adam’s silly way of getting attention. I miss him trying to climb my legs, chewing on my hair, and running away from my camera.  I am really looking forward to the day when I can walk through the door of Tabby’s Place and visit my dear friend again.

As the days start to grow longer again, I hope that Adam will start to enjoy his time in the solarium again.  He has always hibernated during the winter, and I feel that this year will be no different for him.  He seems to be solar-powered, relying on the sun for his energy.  Luckily for him, spring is not that far away.

So enjoy this winter, friends.  Adam and I thank you for all that you are doing to brighten these days and bring joy and love to Adam and his friends.  Our days are sunnier because of people like you.
