Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Happy May, friends!

Adam and I hope that this update finds you well and safe.  We are both fine and enjoying the lovely spring weather that we have been having on many days this month.

Sadly, I now haven’t seen our little tabby in almost two months.  It seems like forever.  I miss him so much!  I have been getting updates from the Tabby’s Place staff and seeing pictures and videos of him, so I feel less like I’m away.  The staff has been doing an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly for the cats.  I’m sure it is strange for them not to see all of the people that volunteer and visit, but they are all hanging in there.

Adam has been feeling better this month.  He now gets some pain medication and this certainly seems to be bringing him relief.  He’s been more of his quirky self lately.  He does still have some agitated episodes, but these don’t last.  We just started keeping kibble out for all-day enjoyment in Suite A again.  Adam has had access to it all along because he was using a micro-chip feeder.  He hasn’t really noticed the change in dietary plans, but his buddies sure have!  It’s been a feast in Suite A this month!

In the videos that I’ve seen of Adam, he looks well.  His fur is shiny again and, while he’ll always look thin, he doesn’t look as gaunt as he was looking several months ago.  He is still quite mischievous and will run away when the camera approaches.  I don’t feel so bad that I have had so much trouble taking a picture of him in the past.  Apparently, he’s quite camera shy!

Tabby’s Place is humming along.  The staff is working in groups of 3-4 never-overlapping people in order to keep the cats happy and healthy and to be sure that if one person were to be exposed to the virus, only two other people would have to quarantine as well.  That way the whole staff wouldn’t be affected and could continue caring for the cats.

Please check out the Tabby’s Place Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages for videos, pictures, and updates about cats and about the goings-on at the sanctuary.  The staff has been wonderful about putting up lots of content to keep all of us connected to the cats and the mission of Tabby’s Place.

Adam and I thank you for your generosity to Tabby’s Place.  It is because of awesome people like you that we are able to be ready for extraordinary circumstances like this and not miss a beat in caring for the cats.  Adam is happy and healthy and loving life.  That is thanks to you.  Have a safe and happy month.

Sue
