Happy New Year! Adam and I send our wishes for a healthy and happy 2020!
Adam is off to a great start to the year. He is happily ensconced in his little cubby sleeping away the days. We are back to hibernation Adam since the days are long and dark.
His health has been great lately. The new diet and his daily medications are really helping him to be more regular. This is a happy thing for our boy (and for the wonderful staff members who express him each day)!
Even though Adam is back to hibernation mode, he has been coming out of his sleepy stupor for some visits from friends and strangers alike. Adam loves attention, especially from folks he doesn’t get to see very often.
One of our amazing volunteer photographers was visiting Suite A a few weeks ago to snap some pictures of all the amazing kitties in that room. When he came back to the lobby he reported that Adam was really affectionate, wanting tons of pets and rubbing all over him. He was able to get some good pictures too. I must admit I’m a bit jealous. Adam sees me coming and just rolls over. I find it so hard to get cute pictures of him! He had a great time with the photographer and that is what matters. I’m always happy to hear tales of Adam being the joyful, sweet kitty that he is.
This past week I was working with a couple who were looking to adopt a special needs cat. These are my favorite type of adoptions because it is so rewarding to show cats that many people don’t want to even consider. We went into Suite A to meet two of the cats they were interested in seeing.
Who should come bounding over to say hi but Adam! He got right in on the action. The couple immediately asked me about him because he reminded them of a cat that they used to have. They loved petting him and he tried to climb the man’s pants and get up into his arms. Adam can be so endearing!
As we discussed Adam, they realized that his needs were too extensive for what they could manage, but they reminded me that someday the right person may just come along for Adam. I often just take for granted that he will always be with us at Tabby’s Place. Whatever the future holds for our special tabby, I am just so grateful to know that he is loved and cherished.
Adam and I are grateful for you as well. You help keep Adam happy and healthy and loving life. Suite A is a lovely little room of cats at the moment and it is thanks to your generosity that all of the animals in there are receiving the diet and medication they need to be comfortable and healthy. Here’s to a wonderful new year. Adam and I will back next month with another update.
