Special Update for Shea

Special Update for Shea

I am thrilled to report that … Shea has been adopted.

I was not aware that one of our volunteers had been considering this adoption for some time.  She had fallen in love with Shea (no surprise) and finally decided to “pull the trigger.”

She was comfortable with his heart disease and not concerned with the medications and the task of pilling him daily.

I was concerned about the need to pill Shea when he started his medications a few months ago. He had, admittedly, come quite far in his ability to tolerate human interaction.  But I was not confident that he would accept being forced to swallow a pill.

As it turned out, there was no need for concern.  If you loved slowly and gently, he was quite amenable to being medicated.

I will miss that boy, but we will be privy to frequent updates, since his new owner is a volunteer.

Jonathan

Since Shea has found a home to call his own, your sponsorship has been transferred to another Special Needs cat: darling Stafford. Like Shea, Stafford is FIV+. He is an older gentleman and a proud part of our Aged to Purrfection program.

If you’d prefer to choose a different cat to sponsor, you can meet them all here. Please feel free to email us if you’d like to transfer your support to a different kitty. (Otherwise, going forward you will receive updates on Stafford each month.)

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity to Shea. You’ve helped to make this marvelous news possible for him, and we’re so grateful!
