Hello, my beloved sponsors!
Welcome to May, which has turned out to be my favorite month EVER!!! Guess what?!?! I FOUND MY FOREVER HOME!!!
And it is all thanks to you and your sponsorship. It is because of your generosity that I had the opportunity to live at Tabby’s Place, and to learn everything that I learned while I was there. I arrived with quite an anger management problem, as I’m sure you remember… and thanks to all of the staff and volunteers here who worked with me, I now understand how to manage my anger and be my best kitty self. And all of the work has paid off, because I finally found a forever home that is MINE ALL MINE!!
Because the folks at Tabby’s Place know me so well, they looked for a family who would adopt me as an only cat, which is how I’d be happiest. And now my dream has become a reality! My new family learned all about my history, and they truly understand me. I have all of the human love and attention on me and as you know, that is how I like it! Who wants to compete with other kitties for pets and hugs? Not me! I could not be happier… but I must say that I will miss you all terribly. I will always be grateful to you for everything you did for me while I lived at Tabby’s Place. I am the kitty I am today (and I found my forever home) because of you! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
But since this is my last sponsor update, I wanted you to know that I had a healthy month and I continued to be an attention hog, of course. The humans have been kidding me that aside from room cleaning, where I and everyone else prefers me in my crate so I don’t get overstimulated… the only other time I get worked up these days is when dinner is late to arrive. I love my wet food SO much! I asked the humans to write down all of my favorite flavors of wet food so my new family will know what I enjoy eating. I even had my ears cleaned and my nails cut very recently, so I could travel to my new home looking my best.
My correspondent and I had our last video chat this week after I left, and I told her that I’m settling in quite well and enjoying watching television with my new family. Strangely enough, my new family was scheduled to come meet me right when Tabby’s Place closed to the public back when NJ went into quarantine, and we were all devastated. But recently our super fantastic staff folks have started doing “virtual meetings” for prospective adopters, and my new family was so happy to finally have the chance to visit with me. And… spoiler alert… we fell in love!!! And now that I am in my new forever home, we will keep in touch with the kitty behavior specialist at Tabby’s Place to make sure I continue learning how to be the best kitty I can possibly be. I promised my correspondent that I’d keep in touch, but I will miss her and all of you!!
I hope that my happy news and my last pictures attached to this update will bring a smile to your faces. I know that all of the humans here in New Jersey and around the world are suffering now in so many ways due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please know that my tiger-striped heart is with you all, as you navigate through everything happening out there. I am thinking about you, and if you are sick or have loved ones who are sick… or however you are affected by this crisis, financially or otherwise… I am sending you lots of furry hugs to comfort you. I owe everything I have to you, and I hope you know how much I love you! Especially lately, with all that you may be going through… your sponsorship meant the world to me and to Tabby’s Place. I will always be grateful to you and I will never forget you no matter what my new life brings. From now until the end of time… I love you!
Love, Rufus (with help from your correspondent, Florie)
Since Rufus has found a home to call his own, your sponsorship has been transferred to another Special Needs cat: darling Stafford. Like Rufus, Stafford is FIV+. He is an older gentleman and a proud part of our Aged to Purrfection program.
If you’d prefer to choose a different cat to sponsor, you can meet them all here. Please feel free to email us if you’d like to transfer your support to a different kitty. (Otherwise, going forward you will receive updates on Stafford each month.)
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity to Rufus. You’ve helped to make this marvelous news possible for him, and we’re so grateful!
