Update for Yardley

Greetings, Yardley sponsors!

Yardley is doing great! She came into Tabby’s Place last week for a checkup. Her weight is up another half pound from last month. She is getting to be on the pudgy side, but that is okay! With the multiple myeoloma, we do not want to restrict her food at all. She can eat whatever she wants.

Her stool has been really good. There has been no vomiting. A few weeks ago, we decreased one medication, which she is on for the diarrhea that started this all. She was on this medication twice a day; now she is on it once a day. Her stool is still perfect. Next month, we may try to decrease some of her other meds.  She is tolerating her chemo very well, too.

Yardley does have a few small areas of hair loss. Her chemo’s side effects do not include hair loss. The skin is not red or irritated. It does not seem to be bothering her. For now, we are just keeping an eye on it.

Last week, we had a housewarming party. Yardley loved it! She was a ham, getting lots of pets and attention. She really likes kids, as long as they are petting her. She is just such a sweet cat.

She is a sweet cat with people, but she still does not care much for other cats. She still mostly stays in her room. Every once in a while, she comes out and growls at the other cats. We hope that she will one day learn to ignore them a bit more and have more access to the whole house.

Thank you for sponsoring Yardley and allowing this sweet girl to have a home. We do not know how much time she will have with us, so we want to make it as special as possible for her. Thank you!
