Update for Yardley

Greetings Yardley Sponsors!

Yardley is doing well! She’s enjoying having the windows open a bit.

She has not been grooming herself as well as I would like. I did have to brush her this week, of which she was not a fan. Sometimes when a cat stops grooming themselves, it can be a sign that something is wrong. I will be taking her to Tabby’s Place to see the vet soon. I will be giving her gabapentin before her vet visit to help keep her calm.

I had to brush her in three separate installments of time. She would only tolerate about 5 minutes before she would try to hit me. I think I did get most of the unruly parts out!

Our family went on vacation this week. This was the first time someone who is not my husband or me gave Yardley her pills. Yardley is not hard to medicate but pilling any cat takes a degree of practice. Thankfully, our pet sitters are amazing and have experience pilling cats. Everything went well while we were away. Yardley’s fur looks good, although I will try to get another brushing into her to keep her groomed.

The kids have started virtual school this week. They need to be on Zoom for most of the day. I thought Yardley might feature in some Zoom meetings but she prefers to be out of the spotlight. She really likes her spot in the playroom. I don’t blame her!

Thanks to all of you who continue to sponsor Yardley!! You make this happen!
