Update for Yardley

Greetings, Yardley sponsors!

I hope you are doing okay in these ever-changing times. Turning to our animals can create reassuring moments out of troubling ones. Cuddling with your animals truly makes everything all better.

That is what Yardley says, at least. Yardley is doing very well. It’s been over 2 months since we started her Prozac and she seems very stable. She still keeps mostly to herself but she tolerates the other cats. Sometimes she will be sitting near them at the top of the stairs waiting for breakfast. I don’t think there is enough Prozac in the world that would make Yardley cuddle with other cats. Yardley tolerating other cats is quite a feat!

We sent over Yardley’s most recent bloodwork to the doctors at the specialty hospital. They were really pleased with how well she is doing. For a cat diagnosed with multiple myeloma a year ago to be doing so well is amazing. They want her medications to stay the same. Yardley only needs to get bloodwork every 3 months instead of every month. Yardley is very happy about that.

We are incredibly happy that she is doing so well. When we took her in as a forever foster a year and 2 months ago, we thought we might have 4-6 months with her. For a cat with a terminal cancer diagnosis to be doing so well and showing no signs of decline is truly amazing.

Thank you for sponsoring Yardley. Thank you for caring for her and allowing us to love and care for her. She is a very special girl. We are very lucky to have her to love and have her be a part of our family. Thank you.
