Update for Simon

Hobo on arrivalDear Sponsors for Simon,

I can guarantee Simon is jumping for joy right about now (if cats do jump for joy) because—news flash—Simon’s brother recently became one of the newest members of Tabby’s Place!

One of the reasons why I wanted to write for Simon in the first place was because he was an orange-and-white kitty, just like my two adorable orange-and-whites at home:  Chuck and Ella. I love the fact that they are brother and sister. They hang together all the time. Groom each other. Watch out for each other. And, yes, even occasionally steal each other’s snacks.

So the very idea that Simon had a brother that he’d already bonded with . . . I immediately began to imagine all these cozy scenarios when they were reunited.

“Hey, is that you, bro?” Sniff. Sniff. “I really missed you.”
“It’s me.”
“It took you long enough to get here.”
“How’s the food?”

Anyway, Hobo (yes, that’s his name, which adds a wonderful bit of romance to the situation) is a very handsome but thin gray-and-white cat. We can assume they’re not biological brothers, but we do know they grew up in the same household until something happened to their owner and they were both given up to a shelter.

It took a while for Tabby’s Place to bring Hobo over, but now the story of the two brothers has the beginning of a happy ending, and I can’t wait to meet them both and tell you about all their adventures together. Who knows.  When you have a Hobo involved, maybe they spent some time on trains, traveling around the United States. They both look like old souls.

For now, I am happy to share that Simon is in good health this month and takes every opportunity to lounge around!  He did have a bout of vomiting, but that’s not unusual for him. He had his blood glucose curve reviewed this month, and all was well. His diabetes is under control by his current insulin routine. He will be medically reviewed again in three months’ time. And as you can see, he’s looking quite handsome!

Simon and I again thank you for your continued support. He’s over the moon that Hobo is here, and that is, in part, because of your generosity.

Enjoy the warm weather, and keep safe.

Your correspondent,
Kate
