Update for Shea

Update for Shea

It is hard to imagine, but the pace of change in the FIV+ Suite continues unabated: cats in, cats out.  Here’s the rundown, as of 14:00 on 11/15/2019:

  • Norah: no sooner did this beauty arrive, than she went on hold and will be going home in a few days.  No surprise.  She is adorable and very sweet.
  • Shiny: the other girl in the room has moved into my office, to be Stafford’s new roommate.

    Martini
  • Martini: the new kid on the block, just moved in to the suite.

As expected, our Arhant (one who has gained insight into the true nature of existence and has achieved nirvana), Shea, handles it all with aplomb.  He is also barely phased by the precipitous plunge in temperatures.  He and his buddy Oscar continue to hang outside, venturing inside now and again to see what is going on.

The other day as I walked the back hallway, I glanced in to the FIV+ solarium and caught a flash of orange and gray.  I stopped for a close look and was treated to the sight of Shea and Oscar chasing each other with sheer abandon.  As quickly as possible, I reached for my camera … but I was too late.  They halted and stared at me, seeming to ask, “What are you looking at?”

It would be so wonderful to capture some video of these guys playing.  But, I don’t hold out much hope for that.

Meanwhile, I am thrilled to see how happy Shea is and how well he has adjusted to living here.  I also envy his ability to effortlessly deal with change.

Maybe I’ll come back as a cat?
